The Shift Coordinator coordinates the provision of direct patient care according to Nursing Care Standards. Promotes and adheres to the IRMC core values of ICARE (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) and G.R.E.A.T. (greet/respond/explain/ask/thank) customer standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will be:

  • Using thorough knowledge of age-specific needs, care of mentally ill persons, Chapter 5100 of the M.H. Procedures Act, CMS and CIHQ standards, voluntary, involuntary, patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Responsible for participating in performance improvement and organizational projects as assigned.
  • Assist frontline staff with coordination of patient care striving for the highest level of patient satisfaction and quality of care.
  • Maintain collaborative and positive working relations with all disciplines, departments, and community partners.
  • Promotes positive public relations and serves as IRMC Ambassador while directing and supporting organizational operations.
  • Responsible for administrative, clinical, and operational functions of behavioral health services in the absence of the Nursing Leadership during off shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Coordinates staffing of departments and is responsible for productivity
  • Responsible for participating in Performance Improvement and Organizational Projects as assigned.
  • Exemplifying the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skill to effectively communicate with patients, family, and members of the organization.
  • Able to function as the charge nurse as required.
  • Will be required to float to all units, including Gero psych, adult, and adolescent.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • EDUCATION:
    • Current Licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • Three to five years nursing experience
    • Demonstrated leadership skills in work environment
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire).
