Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.
Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
About This Role:
Crusoe is seeking a Senior Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale our global team. This key leadership role sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, driving customer success across pre-sales and post-sales engagements. You will build and mentor a high-performing team that serves as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them design, adopt, and scale solutions that deliver superior performance at lower cost. In this role, you and your team will gather customer requirements, lead technical discovery, and prove the performance, price, and scalability of the Crusoe Cloud platform. You will partner with Sales to validate Crusoe’s differentiated economics and technical capabilities, giving customers confidence to adopt Crusoe Cloud at scale. Post-deal, you will provide technical guidance to optimize AI workloads and improve efficiency, ensuring customers maximize the impact of Crusoe’s infrastructure.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be expected to roll up your sleeves, engage directly with customers, and lead by example in technical discovery, POCs, and solution design, while also building and scaling the team around you.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Build, lead, and mentor a world-class Solutions Engineering team, while serving as a hands-on player-coach who actively engages in customer conversations, technical discovery, POCs, and post-sales deployments when required.
Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, senior technical leaders, and decision-makers across startups, digitally native businesses, and enterprises.
Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architecture reviews during pre-sales cycles, while establishing a scalable engagement framework with formal POC methodologies, discovery protocols, and success criteria.
Guide customers through proof-of-concept and evaluation phases, helping them validate Crusoe’s differentiated performance, price, and scalability.
Post-deal, provide technical guidance to optimize AI workloads and improve efficiency, ensuring customers maximize the value of Crusoe’s infrastructure.
Develop and articulate solutions that deliver better price-performance, lower TCO, and more efficient AI infrastructure utilization, while creating reference architectures and deployment patterns that simplify adoption and scaling.
Partner with Sales to accelerate adoption and close transformative deals by providing technical credibility, competitive positioning, and ROI/TCO justification.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap priorities and establish a voice-of-the-customer feedback loop to ensure learnings from POCs and customer engagements directly inform product direction.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
15+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Proven success building and scaling high-performing technical teams, including organizational design, hiring, and mentorship.
Strong executive presence and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, senior technical leaders, and decision-makers.
Deep technical expertise in cloud infrastructure and AI/ML workloads, with hands-on experience guiding customers through solution design, architecture reviews, and POCs.
Track record of driving post-sales success and long-term customer engagements, helping organizations optimize architecture, utilization, and economics.
Experience developing solutions and scalable patterns (e.g., reference architectures, MLOps integrations) that improve performance, reduce TCO, and simplify AI workload deployment.
A hands-on leadership style; comfortable rolling up your sleeves to design solutions, run POCs, and engage with customers directly, while building and scaling a high-performing team.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering and translate customer feedback into roadmap impact.
Bonus Points:
Experience with hyperscalers, GPU clouds, or high-performance compute environments.
Familiarity with large-scale AI training and inference architectures.
