POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager (DMS) is responsible for supervision of all educational activities of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Including the oversite of the full-time and part-time faculty as well as the curriculum and program outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Develops and maintains Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program curriculum for both current and future programs.
● Maintains acceptable student outcomes for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program including but not limited to the following:
o Credentialing Licensure Pass Rate
o Graduate Placement Rate
o Completion Rate
o Retention Rate
o Student, Graduate, Clinical Affiliate, Employer, and Faculty Satisfaction Rates.
● Serve as a consultant as needed to other medical programs.
● Sustains accreditation status for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Collects, analyzes, and reports the required data as mandated by the various agencies with oversite of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Including but not limited to CAAHEP, ABHES, ACPE, and the Utah department of Commerce, Consumer Protection.
● Partner with Compliance and Academic leadership to complete all required reports as mandated by the various agencies with oversite of the Program.
● Supervise and mentor all Diagnostic Medical Sonography Faculty
● Review curriculum on a regular basis for updates to test plans and changes in practice.
● Develop Program budgets and plan for capital budget requests and equipment replacement.
● Review all Diagnostic Medical Sonography program systematic evaluation plans and Program Effectiveness Plans.
● Serve as the program director for various Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs as needed.
● Ongoing development and review of program mission, curriculum, faculty, and students.
● Represent the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program of Charter College- to the community at large, other post-secondary education institutions, and accreditation bodies.
● Collaborate with Prospect Education curriculum department to create, obtain, and/or review syllabi, lesson plans, tests, lecture notes, texts, and other classroom material.
● Set and administer the schedule for review and revision of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program curriculum. This includes establishment and utilization of best practice guidelines in Diagnostic Medical Sonography education.
● Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in Diagnostic Medical Sonography education.
● Direct regional Professional Advisory Committee meetings to ensure the community needs are met by the program.
● Collaborate with other employees to design and/or maintain the physical plant used by program.
● Collaborate with other college leadership staff to achieve high organizational results in area of admissions, customer satisfaction, student retention, student success, and financial aid.
● Interview, select, and orient Diagnostic Medical Sonography program faculty and staff.
● Design and/or maintain and manage faculty development plans and continuing education.
● Facilitate use of innovative, evidence based best practice methods for teaching/learning.
● Substitute for Diagnostic Medical Sonography instructors as needed.
● Attend college faculty meetings, Director and program Manager meetings. Plan and direct faculty meetings.
● Establish and maintain relationships with student clinical sites. Collaborate with Career Services to initiate and maintain MOU/contract with clinical sites.
● Collaborate with faculty to evaluate clinical sites. This activity includes ensuring site visits; and student, faculty and site relationship success. Topics covered under this duty include clinical site use and maintenance, scheduling, student performance during clinical, and attainment of clinical objectives.
● Monitor and resolve faculty conflicts or problems.
● Manage students in program by being advisor, mentor, evaluator in matters concerning academic performance, clinical performance, scheduling, progression through program, and need for remediation.
● Collaborate with the Prospect Education compliance department and academic leadership to ensure initial and ongoing approval/accreditation with local and national regulatory/accreditation agencies.
● Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
● Bachelor's degree of Sonography Required.
● Must meet all qualifications required by CAAHEP, ABHES, ACPE, and the Utah department of Commerce, Consumer Protection.
● Have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques.
● Minimum two years Clinical experience as a registered Sonographer
● Maintain a RDMS Certification
COMPENSATION
● Full time – Salaried Exempt Position
● MIN: $90,000 MID:110,000
● Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
