Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, with primary offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Our Registration Services Team is seeking a Registration Coordinator to join its Chicago office.
The Registration Coordinator, Registration Services, coordinates the various tasks needed to provide clients and event guests with seamless registration experience. The registration coordinator is responsible for managing the full registration process for events. This role will participate in team meetings, provide responsive customer service to attendees, and support the technology process onsite.

What You Will Do…
The objective of the role is to meet and exceed service delivery expectations with clients, attendees, and exhibitors/sponsors. This is an ideal job for someone who has a passion for working with customers, exercises sound business judgment, is a strategic thinker, and can communicate effectively between varying technical and non-technical audiences. The role requires extraordinary attention to detail, communication, and customer service.
System Requirements and Documentation
Works with Client and internal team to understand registration system requires and tests functionality. Use of Systems, Tools, Controls and Applications to fulfill registration services, reporting needs, and financial reconciliation based upon requirements document
Guest Services
Provides customer service support for email and phone inquiries from event guests, as well as balance due follow-up and cancelation requests. Investigates, troubleshoots, and provides system updates for record changes.
Pre-event/Post-event Planning, and Onsite Execution
Participates in planning and debrief registration meetings. Supports procurement of materials to provide onsite registration services.Tests the onsite applications, trains the temporary staff, and provides customer service during event days.

Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years work experience in an event and/or registration service capacity.
Demonstrated success working directly with customers, building strong relationships, and providing responsive solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge and experience working in event registration platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Experienced working in a fast paced, multi-client environment.
Demonstrated organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects running concurrently.

Our hybrid environment offers you the option of working from home two days per week. Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines.
Smithbucklin considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate's recent coursework, training, experience, and certifications, among other considerations. The expected pay for this role is 65k-70k.
