Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the Accounting Administrator, with a strong focus on accounts receivable and collections. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about accounting. You’ll bring persistence and excellent communication skills to daily collection activities, while also handling accounts payable, spreadsheet maintenance, customer service, reconciliations, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Administrator, including A/R, A/P and other ad hoc tasks
  • Make daily collection calls and follow up with customers to ensure timely payments
  • Assist with approving payable invoices
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements
  • Reconcile credit card and bank statements monthly
  • Prepare and maintain accurate accounting documents and records
  • Perform data entry and record-keeping activities
  • Retrieve, sort, and manage mailings
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and directives governing financial matters
  • Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Administrator as required


  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Strong accounts receivable and collections experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (strong asset), Excel, and Outlook
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role/industry
  • Logistics industry experience considered an asset
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively
