Scopely is looking for a Client Engineer to join our Stumble Guys team in Barcelona or Dundee on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from the hub.

- Implement fun and engaging gameplay features, mechanics, and systems that enhance the player experience inside levels and their surroundings.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and senior engineers to bring creative ideas into the game, ensuring smooth integration of gameplay elements into the overall project.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to support gameplay interactions, ensuring features are performant and reliable.
- Participate in prototyping and iterating on gameplay systems, contributing ideas and feedback to improve the player experience.
- Debug and fix gameplay-related issues, learning to identify technical challenges early and working with peers to resolve them effectively.
- Take ownership of smaller features while supporting senior engineers on larger gameplay systems.
- Professional experience as a gameplay programmer in a game development team, ideally having worked on at least one shipped title or significant project.
- Strong proficiency with Unity and C#, with an understanding of gameplay development workflows.
- Familiarity with implementing common gameplay systems such as player controls, abilities, physics, or level interactions.
- Ability to work effectively with designers, artists, and engineers to turn creative vision into functional gameplay features.
- Willingness to learn and grow by taking on feedback, following best practices, and improving technical and collaboration skills.
- Passion for creating fun, polished, and player-centric experiences.
- Exposure to Photon Quantum or Entity Component Systems (ECS).
- Experience with real-time multiplayer gameplay systems.
- Understanding of free-to-play game mechanics and live operations.
- Familiarity with Agile development processes.
- A personal portfolio of gameplay prototypes, game jams, or side projects that showcase creativity and technical ability.
