Title: Machinist Technician - Flex Pro Machine Shop
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: $66,000 - $84,000
Schedule: 9/80 Schedule (May require some overtime and weekend work)

Focus: The Machinist Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining various machines used in manufacturing settings, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines. In addition, interpreting engineering drawings, setting up machines, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and safety standards. Also perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and assist in the design and development of new products.
Machinist Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Operate various machine shop equipment including CNC and manual mills lathes, and other equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluids, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Prepare bills of material, specifications, and work orders.
Machinist Technician Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree/certificate in Tool & Die or Machining preferred.
- Minimum two years of Machining/ Tool & Die experience; ability to program CNC mills and lathes preferred.
- Reading and understanding blueprints and specifications.
- Experience with AutoCAD software for reading, editing, and creating blueprints.
- Proficient in precision measuring using micrometers and calipers.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and trade-type tools to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and be comfortable instructing others if needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
