Job Description
Position: Laundry Attendant
Department: Housekeeping Operations
Job Summary: Ensures that all laundry are washed and recorded in accordance with established rules and procedures. Ensures
that all equipment is switched off when not in use or not being supervised.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Receives and marks items for laundry with identifying code numbers or names, using hand or machine markers.
- Examines and sorts laundry into lots to be cleaned according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required.
- Checks all linen and articles of clothing for stains and damage; reports damaged articles to supervisor.
- Inspects soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and identify items requiring special treatment.
- Uses appropriate protective clothing when handling soiled or infected linen.
- Regulates machine processes with the right volume of water, bleach, detergent, starch, and other additives.
- Mixes and adds detergents, bleaches, dyes, starches, and chemicals to color, clean, dry, or stiffen articles.
- Loads articles into washers.
- Sorts and counts articles removed from dryers; folds, wraps, or hangs them up.
- Keeps clean and dirty linen separate within the laundry area
- Ensures the laundry room is clean and tidy: washers, dryers, and laundry bags are washed down; lint trays and vents are cleaned; and floors mopped.
- Cleans machine filters and lubricates equipment.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- Resolves complaints, if received and possible, or refers to supervisor for handling.
- Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
- Participates in meetings, such as staff meetings or training sessions, as required
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Ability to lift or move up to ten (10) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience as a laundry attendant in a hospitality environment.
