Responsibilities
- Oversee portfolio management, including performance tracking, governance, and exit strategies.
- Monitor material non-public information related to public companies that the Venture team learns of in the course of their day-to-day activities and board relationships with private companies. In addition, individual will monitor portfolio risk, calculate fund and individual company investment performance, and produce reports for venture fund limited partners and serve as primary liaison for communicating to fund LPs and other Columbia / Seligman funds invested in the venture team’s portfolio companies
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth deal execution.

- Utilize scenario-based forecasting to help in prospective investment decisions regarding venture investments.
- Lead sourcing and execution of venture investments.
Requirements
- Experience in Finance or Accounting roles such as financial planning and analysis, financial audit, securities research, or investment banking.
- Must have the financial and business acumen to serve as a Board member of private technology companies if needed.
- Moreover, the individual should be able to step in to serve as a financial advisor or even as an interim Chief Financial Officer for the team’s portfolio companies. From time to time, Operating Partner may need to help portfolio companies with M&A analysis, due diligence of prospective hires or partnerships with other companies, and guide portfolio companies through capital raises and strategic planning.
Preferred
- Experience with valuing private companies. CPA and /or MBA also preferred.
