Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accountant III is responsible for a variety of accounting duties within the company. The role may include general accounting, accounts payable, and other accounting and administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Prepare and submit journal entries into the general ledger system and ensure accurate and thorough supporting documentation
- Independently perform balance sheet account reconciliations, in-depth account analyses, accrual calculations and other related accounting activities in a timely manner
- May participate in/lead other general accounting activities such as managing fixed assets, supplier contracts, revenue transactions, etc.
- Support the annual year-end audit process through issuance of audited financial statements.
- Oversee administration of the QAD system as it relates to accounting and costing.
- Work on specific unique projects that might call for accounting, financial modeling, or project management skills.
- Serve as a champion for strong business controls and support Sarbanes-Oxley processes within TransMedics.
- Strive for continuous process and product improvement in all work activities in order to enhance the productivity and success of the department and the Company.
- Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years related experience with demonstrated proficiency in wide range of accounting skills and deep understanding of business processes with an in-depth understanding of not only the technical aspects but why the task is being performed
- Must possess strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP systems (QAD experience a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Outstanding MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
- Demonstrated track record dealing with internal/external customers, vendors and partners in a positive and professional manner
- Demonstrated track record of accountability with the ability to manage and organize al tasks regardless of complexity; independently manage deliverables
- Well regarded as a strong team player with proven ability to collaborate on complex cross-functional projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting plus 5+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; MS in Accounting or MBA preferred
