Who are you?

You’re detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to provide excellent service in loan servicing. As a Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist I, you’ll manage functions like payoffs, escrow disbursements, loan file maintenance, and compliance. A key focus of this role is supporting investor reporting and payment processing for secondary market loans, including MPF/FHLB and Freddie Mac. If you have experience in this area, your expertise will be highly valued in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You will be responsible for:

  1. Processing consumer loan and mortgage servicing requests such as payoffs, file reviews, loan modifications, payments, and escrow disbursements.

  2. Maintaining accurate loan documentation and handling lien perfection, releases, and satisfactions.

  3. Administering escrow accounts for taxes, insurance, PMI, and flood monitoring, including analysis and annual statements.

  4. Supporting investor servicing by processing ACH and wire transactions, handling investor reporting, and ensuring timely remittances for MPF/FHLB and Freddie Mac loans.

  5. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies.

  6. Researching and resolving loan-related issues to provide superior internal and external customer service.

  7. Cross-training with team members to support broader loan servicing functions and strengthen departmental effectiveness.

Requirements:

You will need a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 0-2 years of previously related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Upon successful completion of your training requirements with our Loan Servicing Team in Wellsboro, PA, and meeting the eligibility criteria of our Flexible Work Arrangements Program, you may be approved to transition to a telecommuting or remote work arrangement. The required training length (typically 30–60 days onsite at the Wellsboro Administrative Building) will be dependent on the candidate’s prior experience and learning aptitude. 

You will demonstrate well-developed abilities and/or proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

  • Providing excellent customer service and effective communication (verbal and written).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and comfort with technology systems.

  • Applying basic math skills to loan servicing tasks.

  • Identifying and resolving problems with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Understanding consumer loans, residential mortgages, and related regulatory requirements.
