Position Summary

Performs administrative and clinical duties assigned for all patients. As a member of a care team, support goal achievement, organizational quality, and patient centered care. Incorporate core organizational values of quality, respect, integrity, partnership and compassion in all activities and decisions. Comply with organizational policies, procedures, standards of care and related laws and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and all accreditation agency regulations.


Essential Duties & Functions

    Responsible for knowing and following all clinical policy and procedure and accreditation requirements including documentation of all patient information accurately and timely into EHR

    Complete intake interview for new and returning patients

    Participates in daily huddles; works with care team to ensure pre-visit preparation including culturally and linguistically appropriate services

    Prepare patients for medical exams consistent with reason for visit; assist provider with exams, as requested

    Perform related duties necessary to ensure quality patient care as requested by supervisor, including addressing barriers to care when the patient has not met treatment goals

    Process all tasks, route task appropriately in a timely manner

    Administer vaccines at the direction of a provider

    Perform screening tests; safely and accurately draw blood; complete standing orders

    Schedule patients for follow-up appointments based on established protocol, identified need and availability of appointments; follow-up with patients who must keep important appointments

    Clean and stock exam rooms, disinfect exam room tables, treatment, and lab surfaces daily; empty, bag and remove all biohazard waste from clinical area

    Set room up according to patient visit type


Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training (minimum requirements)

    High school diploma, or equivalent

    Graduate of an accredited school with a Medical Assistant Certification

    Current BLS Certification


Required Years of Experience  (minimum requirements)

    Minimum of (6) months’ experience in a Women’s Health/OB MA role or currently enrolled in a medical, nursing or EMT program


Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

    Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic health record

    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

    Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

    Mathematical proficiency

    Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

    Strong communication skills, both written and oral
