SUMMARY:
The Capital Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of capital projects from concept through completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. The Capital Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external contractors, and vendors, managing all aspects of project scope, schedule, and cost
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects, including facility expansions, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and scope to ensure successful delivery.
- Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage procurement processes including RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor selection.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve project issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and transition to operations.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration between project teams and organizational leadership.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on capital or large-scale projects.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contracts effectively.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and project management best practices.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
