Global Head of People, CARFAX

Location: Centreville/Reston, VA (in 2026)

Role Overview:

As a Global Head of People for the CARFAX business, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our human resources landscape. This position is at the forefront of driving people-focused strategies that align with CARFAX's business. You will lead the charge in creating a dynamic work environment that fosters innovation, engagement, and excellence. You will partner closely with the President of CARFAX and be a part of the Executive Leadership Team.  We are looking for a people leader that embodies our mission and brings our culture to life.

About the role: 

You will collaborate with the CARFAX leadership and the People Shared Service organizations to deliver cutting-edge people practices that anticipate and meet the evolving needs of our global workforce. You will leverage data and insights to ensure that CARFAX has the right talent in place, equipped with the skills needed to thrive and grow, driving change management and cultural initiatives that support CARFAX as an employer of choice with a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Establish and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating effective communication across all levels of the organization.
    • Communicate people strategies and initiatives effectively, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  • People Agenda Management:
    • Actively drive workforce planning and overall talent deployment and spend.
    • Manage the people agenda for client groups, ensuring alignment with People Strategy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and other leaders to implement and maintain an effective operating model, addressing any roadblocks that may arise.
  • Talent Development & Acquisition:
    • Navigate across the enterprise to facilitate talent development, addressing specific needs of client groups while ensuring policy compliance.
    • Partner with the business on needs and the Recruiting team on finding top talent.
  • Change Management and Culture:
    • Oversee change management and culture initiatives, ensuring organizational design and development align with CARFAX’s strategic goals.
  • Data-Driven Insights:
    • Monitor and analyze metrics related to people management, providing insights that drive continuous improvement in talent strategy and workforce planning.
    • Drive engagement and retention by identifying opportunities and developing strategies to mitigate attrition risk of key talent.
  • Team Development:
    • Develop and build a high-performing team, acting as a peer advisor and coach to other members of the Global People team.
    • Ensure strong succession planning is in place, building talent bench within the team.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in financial services, professional services, or a related field; understanding a B2C/similar businesses, products, and services.  Automotive background is a plus.
    • Proven leader and manager of a globally distributed team.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead various high-profile projects simultaneously with strong project management capabilities.
    • Experience handling demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited information.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Demonstrable ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within a large matrixed organization.
    • Strong financial and business insight, coupled with an analytical mindset.
    • Commitment to maintaining very high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Very strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $136,935 to $270,200. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
