We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to join our growing tax practice in our Newtown Square, PA office. This individual will lead client engagements, oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns, and provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, proven leadership ability, and a strong commitment to client service.
Essential Duties
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements across industries with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
- Oversee and review preparation of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for:
- Individuals
- S-Corporations
- Partnerships and other flow-through entities
- Trusts and estates
- Provide advanced tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and partnerships.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues and communicate practical solutions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Collaborate with partners on strategic initiatives, including business development.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in-office a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
- Active CPA license or EA certification required.
- MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with significant review and advisory exposure required.
- Technical expertise in preparation and review of complex individual, S-Corp, partnership/flow-through, and trust/estate returns.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH, BNA, RIA). Knowledge of ProSystems FX preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with executive presence.
- Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and contribute to firm growth.
