We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our Human Resources team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This role will play a key part in delivering high-quality recruitment support across our Legal practice groups, partnering closely with hiring managers to attract and secure top legal talent.
Main purpose of the role:
You will deliver a sector-leading, end-to-end, progressive and inclusive talent acquisition service to meet the needs of the firm.
You will lead on our cost-saving, direct sourcing attraction strategy and effectively triage roles - hiring candidates either through proactive direct sourcing or by the selective use of external search firms. To do this, you will maintain networks with passive candidates and specialist agencies, understanding the market for our core growth areas and how those areas are best served.
You will work closely with stakeholders, including Practice Group Leaders, Team Leaders and hiring managers, acting as a business partner and providing a consultative approach to managing the hiring process for legal hires.
You will develop our employer brand and ensure a first-class candidate experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver innovative talent acquisition strategies and solutions to meet the recruitment needs of the business, predominantly for our legal teams, across a variety of levels.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and all hiring managers, taking a business partnering approach, gaining insight and a strong understanding of their business areas and teams' future talent needs.
- Deliver on key talent acquisition objectives to directly source permanent and temporary candidates across a range of sectors, headhunting passive talent and using LinkedIn along with other online tools to reduce agency spend and time to hire.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve, streamline and automate the recruitment process, specifically through the use of technology, including AI, making recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage key agency relationships, ensuring a first-class service from our key suppliers that are relevant and add value to our direct sourcing activities.
- Support hiring managers with interview design, competency-based assessment techniques, and selection tools to ensure fair and effective hiring decisions. Guide hiring managers on recruitment best practices, inclusive hiring, and interview techniques.
- Use management information and data to track recruitment metrics and make data-driven decisions that improve recruitment processes and increase the quality of hires.
- Work with the TA Manager to produce quarterly reports on key metrics.
- Be active on LinkedIn - regularly creating and posting content to develop our employer brand and build networks of potential candidates.
- Support with the creation of careers site content and ongoing enhancements.
- Attend industry events, networking forums, and conferences to build relationships, raise our employer brand profile, and proactively engage with potential talent. Leverage these opportunities to gather market intelligence, identify emerging trends, and strengthen our talent pipeline.
- Ensure all candidates have a first-class candidate experience, with timely interviews, regular communication and constructive feedback.
- Champion diversity, equality and inclusion in all talent acquisition processes.
- Fully engage and be prepared to lead on project work for the Talent Acquisition team, inputting to system and process reviews and enhancements, employer branding and other ad-hoc initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience:
You will:
- Have experience of working as an in-house recruiter, preferably in professional services and be used to working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Be a credible business partner to stakeholders taking responsibility and accountability for your business areas.
- Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the professional services market place and be able to identify advanced attraction strategies to meet requirements.
- Have a proven track record of delivering permanent and temporary professional services recruits through direct sourcing methods, and operate comfortably within those networks.
- Have experience of developing effective recruitment strategies that deliver results in a cost-effective manner.
- Be effective in your approach to candidates and agencies, understanding the latest attraction methodology and using key metrics to measure success.
- Be an effective change agent, able to influence and educate hiring managers in all recruitment related activity.
- Be able to communicate articulately, professionally and responsively at all levels and demonstrate high levels of customer service.
- Be resilient in the face of often multiple demands.
- Be a strong collaborator, working flexibly and efficiently within the wider team.
- Be comfortable in using and developing technology, from ATS through to digital attraction via LinkedIn and social media platforms.
