Job Title: Internal Controls Manager
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

SUMMARY
The Internal Controls Manager will play a key role in strengthening the company’s financial integrity and global reporting standards. This position oversees internal accounting and controls (including K-SOX compliance and audits), consolidated reporting to Korea HQ under both US GAAP and K-IFRS, and taxation and regulatory compliance in the U.S. The role also provides broad-based financial support to ensure effective operations.

•Work to ensure that everyone inside the shipyard is safe and performing their work in accordance with HPSI’s core principles
•Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
1. Internal Accounting & Controls
•Establish and maintain internal accounting policies, procedures, and internal control framework (K-SOX)
•In charge of Internal Controls audit, and compliance with regulations and policies
•Coordinate with auditors for statutory audits and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables
2. Consolidated Reporting to HQ Interface (Korea)
•Prepare consolidated financial reports, cash flow statements, and analysis for submission to Korean HQ
•Ensure compliance with both US GAAP and K-IFRS reporting standards as required by HQ
•Monitor intercompany transactions, eliminate mismatches, and prepare related-party transaction disclosures
•Act as primary liaison with Korea HQ finance/accounting teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting package delivery
•Provide ad-hoc analysis and resolve cross-border accounting and reporting issues
3. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
•Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings; coordinate with external tax advisors as needed
•Monitor tax credit usage, carry forwards, and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations
•Support transfer pricing documentation and related compliance for intercompany arrangements
4. Ad-hoc Financial Support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
•5+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in shipbuilding, heavy industry, construction, or large-scale manufacturing
•Strong knowledge of US GAAP (K-IFRS knowledge is a strong plus)
•Experience with project-based accounting, cost control, and WIP management
•Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent)
•Bilingual in Korean and English (verbal and written communication skills required)
•Experience working in a shipyard or marine industry preferred
•Familiarity with long-term project revenue recognition methods (POC, milestone-based) preferred
•Experience coordinating with international HQ, especially Korean conglomerates preferred
•Understanding of U.S. tax compliance and audit process preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department. Days and hours are determined by department schedule.
