Job Description
Motor City Wash Works is looking for energetic and motivated candidates to staff its Saw Department in our manufacturing facility. As a member of the team some Saw Department essential duties and functions are as follows.
Responsibilities
- Operate vertical miter cold metal saw.
- Load and unload sawhorses by hand or with forklift
- Load, operate and unload saw. Must be able to lift 50lb. regularly
- Use basic measuring devices. Tape measure, back stop, manual adjustable length stops.
- Load cut pieces on carts and push to CNC mill operators
- Fill out basic work order and inventory tracking forms
- Will learn programmable auto feeder/stop
Qualifications/Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math skills. Count materials used and parts made. Knowledge of measuring fractions and decimals
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Ability to work on your feet all day, moving continuously and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Load and operate saw while standing for up to 10 hours a day
- Forklift experience a plus, willingness to train to gain a forklift operators certificate
- Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
