Job Description:🔧 What You Will Do
As an HVAC Controls Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC control systems to ensure building efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Your role includes:
Programming, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC controls systems (mechanical, electrical & low voltage components)
Responding to service and warranty calls using JCI software, configuration tools, and testing equipment
Providing frontline repair support and clear technical communication to customers
Delivering system repair & upgrade recommendations while assisting in solution proposals
Serving as a trusted advisor to customers by solving inefficiencies and recommending solutions in real-time
⚙️ How You Will Do It
Load and configure Johnson Controls field & network-level controller software
Perform commissioning & diagnostics on system controllers and end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.)
Calibrate systems with standard electronic test equipment
Document changes, update as-built documentation, and complete commissioning reports
Communicate effectively with management, contractors, and customers on project progress and issues
Execute ongoing training (company-sponsored & self-directed) to stay at the top of your field
Provide recommendations, quotes, and upsell opportunities to ensure customer facilities run at peak efficiency
Uphold the highest safety standards on every project site
✅ What We Look For
Required Qualifications
📌 Previous controls experience is required
🎓 Completion of a vocational school (4-year program) or Associate degree in:
Electronics
Mechanical systems
Computer technology
Air conditioning or 2+ years of industry experience servicing HVAC electronic/mechanical systems
🛠️ Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequences, and applications
⚡ Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical & electro-mechanical fields
🔌 Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (e.g., multimeter)
💻 Solid knowledge of personal computer applications
🎯 High attention to detail, with strong communication & listening skills
