About the Role:

The Loss Prevention role in Vista is critical to safeguarding company assets and ensuring a secure environment for both employees and customers. This position focuses on identifying, investigating, and mitigating risks related to theft, fraud, and other forms of loss within the retail or operational setting. The successful candidate will work closely with management and law enforcement when necessary to implement effective loss prevention strategies and maintain compliance with company policies. By proactively monitoring activities and analyzing data, the role aims to reduce shrinkage and enhance overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position contributes to protecting the company’s financial health and reputation through vigilant and ethical loss prevention practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of surveillance techniques and investigative procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with law enforcement or legal entities.
  • Familiarity with retail operations and inventory management systems.
  • Certification in loss prevention or security (e.g., LPC, CPP).
  • Proficiency in using surveillance technology and data analysis software.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular surveillance and monitoring of store premises to detect and prevent theft or suspicious activities.
  • Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or policy violations, documenting findings and preparing detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with store management and security teams to develop and implement loss prevention strategies and training programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all loss prevention activities, including incident reports, case files, and evidence logs.
  • Engage with law enforcement agencies when necessary to support investigations and prosecutions related to theft or fraud.
  • Analyze sales and inventory data to identify trends or anomalies that may indicate loss or risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards related to loss prevention.
