POSITION SUMMARY:

The Master Data Specialist serves as the organization’s data steward, owning the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of master data in SAP, VIP, Distributor and all 3rd party systems. This position collaborates with cross‑functional teams to align data processes with business needs, performs ongoing quality checks, and supports system enhancements that improve data integrity and efficiency. This role blends technical SAP expertise with analytical insight to ensure our data is reliable, actionable, and ready to power decision‑making.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Data Management & Governance

  • Create, maintain, and update master data records for new and existing items and customer records in SAP, VIP and any 3rd party systems.
  • Maintain cost and market pricing structures within SAP.
  • Maintain condition records within SAP.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, hierarchy and naming conventions.
  • Perform regular data quality checks, audits, and cleansing activities to maintain accuracy, alignment and completeness across systems.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, finance, sales, and IT teams to gather data requirements for new item creation.
  • Support SAP implementation, migration, and integration projects, ensuring smooth data transitions.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on SAP master data processes.


Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze data trends, identify anomalies, and recommend process improvements.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Monitor KPIs related to data quality and system performance.


System & Process Optimization

  • Work with SAP functional team in headquarters office to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Recommend enhancements to SAP master data workflows and configurations.
  • Stay updated on SAP releases, tools, and best practices in master data management.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a master data or data analyst role, with hands-on SAP experience (MM, SD, FI, or related modules).
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) master data management.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and concepts.
  • Experience with VIP preferred.

  • Willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (Power query, Power pivot and Power BI are a plus).
  • Ability to process data from a wide range of sources.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods, working with computers and other office equipment. Ability to lift 40 lbs. as needed.


WORKPLACE DETAILS:

  • Location: White Plains, NY 10601.
  • Schedule: Hybrid—three days in-office, two days remote.
  • Office hours: 9am to 5:30pm.
  • Commute: Just a 5-minute walk from the Metro-North Station, making it an easy and convenient ride to and from NYC.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Base salary range: $70K-$85K/yr. exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
