Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst will transform raw data into actionable business insights that drive decision-making and performance. Design, build, and optimize dashboards, reports, and BI applications "primarily using Power BI" while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. A strong grasp of data modeling, analytical thinking, and storytelling through data are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is a plus and provides room for growth into advanced analytics initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or data visualization role.
- Proficiency with Python for data analysis, cleansing, and process automation with analytics workflows.
- Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and dashboard/report development.
- Strong data storytelling skills with an understanding of effective data visualization and UX principles.
- Solid SQL skills for querying and transforming data from relational databases.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Initiative-taker with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and its suite of tools (e.g., Dataflows, Lakehouse, Notebooks).
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT methodologies.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, and semantic layer best practices.
- Experience with complementary tools such as SSMS, SSRS, Excel, or other BI platforms.
- Domain experience in business functions such as manufacturing, finance, and operations is a plus.
