Telework: This position will report to the headquartered location a minimum of 2 days per week. You may have the opportunity to telework the remainder of the week, if desired and based on business need.

Work Hours: 8:30 – 5:00
Salary Range: Budget Analyst II – Starting salary of $57,487, commensurate with experience
Budget Analyst III – Starting salary of $65,741, commensurate with experience
Basic Function
Join the Office of Attorney General’s (OAG) Budget and Finance team for a challenging and
rewarding experience, with room for professional growth. This position will perform a wide
variety of budget preparation and analysis work. The employee in this position will report
directly to the senior Budget Analyst and work closely with both the Director of Finance and the
senior Budget Analyst to perform a wide variety of budgeting tasks. Work is performed within
general policies and procedures and is subject to review by a supervisor.
Position Duties
- Analyzes financial transactions and prepares documentation and reports to control and account for multiple sources of state and federal funding
- Responsible for compiling and analyzing budgetary data for operational purposes and the triannual budget submissions (Governor’s Budget, Legislative Budget, and the Rebudget – the current fiscal year budget as enacted)
- Performs ongoing projections of budget expenses throughout the fiscal year to monitor fiscal controls
- Prepares monthly financial reports
- Prepares accounting reports and budgetary projections for program personnel and operating expenses
- Prepares federal subgrant budgets and provides assistance with grant applications and monitoring expenditures
- Runs numerous reports from Analysis for Office (AO), the reporting tool in SAP, for budgetary use and/or distribution among various OAG personnel
- Maintains all fund and cost center coding in SAP and updates the Account Code Listing
- Compiles statistical, fiscal, and program information for the formulation and administration of a complex departmental budget
- Provides support to the Director of Finance and the senior Budget Analyst as needed
- Performs related work as required
Minimum Qualifications
Budget Analyst II:
- A Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional accounting or financial experience
Budget Analyst III:
- A Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional accounting or financial experience
Other Qualifications
- Ability to analyze financial data in a complex organization
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- SAP knowledge and advanced skills in AO is a plus
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
- Demonstrated success managing multiple project simultaneously
- Ability to perform independent research as necessary
