Overview:
Operates the filler of an assigned line, including ensuring that product is properly sealed and packaged. Assists in pulling supplies and loading filler appropriately throughout the production process. Troubleshoots concerns and escalates to maintenance and production managers as needed.
Responsibilities:- Loads filler with appropriate product lids, cups, and box labels as required by production and packaging of product.
- Operates filler and production line as appropriate.
- Guides line attendant assigned to line and asks for support as needed.
- Reads scales and performs arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Maintains all line-check paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provides product samples to lab according to defined requirements.
- Ensures that proper weights and metal detector checks are made.
- Monitors proper time and temperature requirements.
- Cleans and rinses equipment according to specified procedures.
- Completes all required daily documentation and reporting for equipment, supplies, and products.
- Maintains accurate records of consumption and production in SAP as required.
- Trains and assists other operators as needed.
- Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food safety and productivity in the processing area.
- Provides support for the production supervisor in maintaining continuous production.
- Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards by all in work area.
- Serve as a Qualified Individual as part of the plant’s Food Safety Plan, including monitoring and verification activities related to process control measures.
- Responsible for process control measures including Metal Detection, and preventive control measures including proper Allergen Cleaning and proper Allergen Labeling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills are required
- Comfortable with utilizing a computer and other electronic recordkeeping devices
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to follow detailed directions and to understand time, temperature, and weight measurements.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a team.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe working area.
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
