- Work with Sr. Manager of Retail & Specialty Pharmacy and Lead Pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow.
- Responsible for overseeing scheduling and proper ratio compliance of retail and specialty pharmacy departments.
- Assists with management of support staff.
- Be a reliable/trusted resource regarding support staff development and compliance.
- Accurately and consistently document all workflows and workflow reporting for support staff.
- Be a reliable/trusted resource regarding movement of inventory between pharmacy sites.
- Ensure medications are in stock and available to the extent possible from manufacturers and distributors.
- Monitor and track physical inventory at pharmacies with monthly reports.
- Oversee physical inventories scheduled in the pharmacies and report on findings
- Work with the Sr. Manager of Retail & Specialty Pharmacy to coordinate community vaccine clinics.
- Oversee and coordinate training of new support staff, students, and residents.
- Oversee and coordinate implementation of new technology used by support staff.
- Work directly with other care providers to improve delivery of care.
- Work directly with wholesaler to obtain optimal drug pricing and timely deliveries.
- Maintain knowledge base of brand and generic drug names as well as dosage forms.
- Screen telephone calls and answer inquiries within scope of position.
- Greet all customers politely and in a timely manner, both in person and on the telephone.
- Prioritize workload so that all are serviced in a timely manner when reasonable.
- Maintain awareness of pharmacy culture including developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into own practice.
- Translate financial data into possible areas of focus for organizational improvement and assist in the implementation of process improvements.
- Interact at all levels of the organization with professional demeanor when dealing with other departments, outside customers, physicians, nurses and office staff. Present a caring and compassionate disposition when dealing with patients and their family/significant other.
- Coordinate scheduling and payroll support.
- Oversee ordering of all pharmacy supplies
- Performs annual evaluations of supervised support staff.
- Provides oversight of claims reimbursement and reconciliation
- Oversee third party billing, assemble monthly statements monthly
- Engages in discussion of monthly profit and loss statement.
- Acts as a working supervisor, staffing when needed.
- Provides immunizations in the pharmacy and at community clinics.
- Implements progressive discipline in conjunction with management team when warranted for support staff.
- Assist Retail Pharmacy Director and Sr. Manager of Retail & Specialty Pharmacy and perform other work related duties as assigned or requested.
- Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers
- Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization’s culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- (Preferred) - College degree
- Ability to read, write and Communicate in English.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- (Pharm Tech) – Currently licensed as a Pharmacy Tech in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- (PTCB) – Current certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- (Cert) – Immunization Certification (obtain within 1 year from start date)
- Two or more years’ experience in Retail pharmacy required with progressive responsibility over that time
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and demonstrates goal-oriented thinking, leadership ability, and strong interpersonal, operational, and organizational skills
- Computer and analytical skills are required. Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Excel
