We’re looking for a Communications Team Leader to guide a talented team in the delivery of timely, creative and transparent communications that connect the stories, people and places of Port Stephens.  

You will need to be a confident communicator that thrives on collaboration, knows how to motivate a team, can juggle competing deadlines, and bring clarity to complex information. Your political insight, strong judgement and confident decision making will set you apart.

• This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time working 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
• Base Salary Range: $93,424 - $109,907 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $11,211 car allowance + $2,464 retention allowance 
• You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

• Lead and mentor a team communication experts 
• Develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive communications and engagement plans. 
• Prepare media responses, statements, or releases.
• Assist in strengthening Council's reputation. 
• Manage sensitive issues in a political environment

• A degree qualification in communication, marketing, media or related field with several years of experience.
• Comprehensive experience leading and motivating others to work collaboratively toward achieving challenging and often conflicting goals.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary communications, content creation, and public relations methods and practices.
• Extensive understanding of media management and contemporary media landscape.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
