Now Hiring: Chief Engineer
Location: EVEN Hotel, Belgrade, Montana
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervises, develops, and maintains an ongoing maintenance operation for property including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/H units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
- Ensures work is completed to accepted practices and codes.
- Collaborates on the creation, management and operation within departmental budget and expense plans.
- Adheres to capital expense standard operating procedures.
- Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time and on budget.
- Manages and directs safety programs.
- Works closely with management and department heads to ensure coordination of guest and client events and AV needs.
- Assists in overall security of the hotel, including door locks, key security, asset protection, and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
- Aids and instructs vendors and team members in scheduling work, ordering materials, and completing assignments by a specified date.
- Familiarizes self with blueprints, contracts, and contractors.
- Interprets specifications, job orders and company policies to workers, and enforces safety regulations.
- Leads and motivates the team to assist guests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Recommends or initiates actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, coaching and progressive disciplinary measures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all systems and equipment.
- Estimates, requisitions and, inspects materials.
- Collaborates with other leadership to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Sets up machines and equipment.
- Greets and welcomes guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
- Knows, and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.

- Performs other related duties as required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, management, organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel.), Adobe, and Quore.
- Ability to motivate team members to work as a team to ensure service meets appropriate OHM and brand standards.
- Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to challenges.
- The ability to work well with, as well as motivate, a variety of personality types and maintain tact and diplomacy throughout all interactions.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize, managing competing deadlines.
- Practices behaviors to effectively motivate, lead, and develop the team.
- Presents professionally and persuasively to individuals and team members.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of the hotel and services offered.
- Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
- Interact with all levels of customers and hotel management.
Education & Experience:
- Certificate from a vocational or trade school, and completion of apprenticeship in HVAC, plumbing and electrical repair preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in the maintenance field and three years’ experience in the plumbing, electrical and painting trades, pools / spas (if applicable) OR an equivalent level of education and experience preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Hours:
- Variable work schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability for emergencies.

- Involves climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling objects.
- Requires manual dexterity for tasks such as typing, grasping, operating tools, and handling small parts.
- Talking, hearing, and repetitive motion tasks are part of daily duties.
Vision Requirements:
- Close vision is needed for reading, inspecting equipment, using tools, and identifying small details or defects
- Visual acuity required for operating vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Ability to assess the accuracy, cleanliness, and completeness of work, as well as observe facilities and surroundings.
Work Environment:
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to potential hazards, including moving machinery, vehicles, electrical systems, high heat, and chemicals.
- Occasional work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces, small rooms, or tight mechanical areas.
- Tasks may involve working in narrow aisles, on scaffolding, or at elevated heights.
