Position Title: Support Services Specialist I

Department: Support Services

Reports to:  Support Services Manager

FLSA Classification: non-exempt

Compensation: $23.00 - $28.58 per hour


Job Summary:

The Support Services Specialist I is responsible for providing a broad range of back-office support to members and credit union employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Responsible for processing correspondence received by mail including, but not limited to, verification of deposits, levies and check orders through home banking and other member correspondence.

· May be responsible for knowledge of process & oversight of member support duties including but not limited to wire request, mobile banking, home banking, ACH share drafts, negative shares, charge-offs and member disputes.

· May be responsible for reviewing established policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with applicable state, federal or other applicable regulatory agency regulations. 

· Provides Members and Employees with exceptional service while ensuring the delivery of accurate information, support for incoming and outgoing wire requests, Mobile and Home Banking, ACH, share drafts and member disputes.

· Reviews daily exception report for certificate maturity, payroll deductions and transfer group, correct errors and process exceptions as needed.

· Follows credit union BSA (Bank Security Act) policy and procedures to monitor and report suspicious activity.

· Completes required research for timely resolution of member problems, subpoenas, or other third-party agency requests for information.

· Completes assigned monthly general ledger reconciliations within given timeframe.

· Ensures the verification of assigned reports are completed within given timeframe.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Basic typing and computer skills including Microsoft Word.

· Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Basic time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Minimum one to two years teller experience or equivalent is required.

Physical Requirements: 

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· May require standing and walking 25% of the time, lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds, and other physical actions that include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling, and pushing.

· May be required to work in an environment with high noise levels and unpredictable temperature and ventilation.
