Key Responsibilities
- Engages in the differential diagnosis of the full range of hearing problems associated with 1) functional 2) mixed 3) conductive 4) sensory 5) neural 6) sensorineural and 7) central hearing losses.
- Demonstrates advanced competence in areas to include advanced audiologic and electrophysiologic evaluation, comprehensive tinnitus assessment and treatment, bio-electric implanted devices, advanced vestibular assessment and treatment/management, and amplification and signal processing technology. In diagnosing these problems, the incumbent conducts and interprets the complete range of specialized and refined audiological test procedures currently available.
- Has the ability to deal professionally with patients who present with inconsistent behavior, conflicting test results, and multiple handicaps that inhibit the utilization of standard audiological test procedures.
- Provides consultation and guidance to colleagues, role model effective audiology practice skills.
- Demonstrates competence in the operation and maintenance of diverse and specialized audiometric equipment including computer facilities and adjunct components.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Certifications: National certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) or American Board of Audiology (ABA) certification.
- Experience/Graduate Training: Have at least at least 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an outpatient setting in the past two years.
- Active BLS
- Licensure/ Registration: Unrestricted license from any US jurisdiction
