Job Purpose
This Project Manager I (PM1) plays a key role in delivering enterprise connectivity services--such as dedicated internet and private networking--as well as Advanced Services including managed network solutions and bundled security offerings. Working within a structured, milestone-based process, PM1s manage a high volume of service orders, coordinating across multiple teams to ensure timely, accurate delivery aligned with contract terms. They also verify that initial billing reflects the customer agreement and keep stakeholders informed throughout. The ideal candidate brings strong ownership, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. PM1s are expected to develop working knowledge of our Business and Enterprise product portfolio, pre-sales processes, and contract structures, and may support more senior project managers (PM2s) on complex projects as needed.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of Business and Enterprise services, including dedicated internet, private networking, and Advanced Services such as managed network solutions and bundled security offerings.
- Manage a high volume of service orders through a structured, milestone-driven process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Review orders for completeness and accuracy, confirm alignment with contract terms, and coordinate scheduling with engineering, operations, field teams, vendors, and other internal departments.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors or service partners to ensure external work is completed on schedule and aligns with overall project timelines.
- Work directly with customers to confirm site readiness, ensuring installation locations meet required standards and timelines.
- Ensure delivery matches contractual scope and that initial billing reflects the agreed terms and services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the order lifecycle, providing clear and proactive communication.
- Escalate issues or risks that may impact timelines, customer readiness, or service acceptance.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, status updates, and audit-ready records in designated tracking tools.
- Provide support on larger, more complex projects by assisting other project managers with order coordination, customer communication, or internal follow-ups as needed.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of the company's Business and Enterprise product portfolio, pre-sales processes, contract structures, and internal policies
Relevant Work Experience
- 1 to 3 years in related field
Education:
- Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in customer-facing roles and working across multiple departments or vendor relationships is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise connectivity services, managed solutions, or telecom service delivery processes is a plus.
- Project Management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP, or BICSI PMCP) preferred
- Microsoft Project certification or demonstrated proficiency in project scheduling tools preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, filtering, and data tracking
- Microsoft 365 or Teams certification proficiency--valued for project collaboration and cross-team communication, and tool fluency.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar process improvement training preferred
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification preferred
- Telecom-related or vendor-specific technical training is beneficial preferred
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
- Hybrid role: mix of remote and in-office work, depending on team needs and project requirements.
- Must be able to work on-site if business needs or company policy changes.
- Occasional local travel may be required to support field teams, vendors, or confirm customer site readiness.
