About the opportunity We’re on the lookout for a strategic and operationally focused Senior HSW Risk Specialist to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Centre of Excellence in the People & Culture team. This team is transforming the way safety is embedded across Australia Post, delivering integrated safety practices. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is driving change, developing enterprise-wide frameworks, building capability and delivering assurance programs that reduce risk and genuinely improve the wellbeing of our people. Please note that this role is advertised in Victoria however we are open to applications Nationwide (VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA). What you’ll deliver with us As the Senior HSW Risk Specialist, you’ll be instrumental in shaping and leading our critical risk and assurance programs across the enterprise. Reporting to the Head of Risk, Compliance and Assurance, you’ll work collaboratively with operational leaders, senior stakeholders, and the wider safety community to develop and embed robust risk practices.Success in this role means playing a significant role in contributing to the development of our critical risk program and delivering an effective risk and compliance based assurance program. You’ll also play a key role in influencing cultural change and helping us meet our obligations under self-insurance and regulatory requirements.You’ll also Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of critical risk programLead and participate in critical control effectiveness programs across the enterprise.Support the delivery of the HSW audit and assurance framework, ensuring alignment with Comcare and self-insurance licence obligations.Analyse performance data and critical control metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.Build strong relationships across the business to enable the effective and pragmatic delivery of our strategic priorities.About you You’re a confident and collaborative safety professional who thrives in complex environments and brings a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset to everything you do. You naturally build trust, influence stakeholders at all levels, and are driven by a genuine commitment to improving health, safety and wellbeing outcomes for all. Comfortable with both strategy and execution, you’re someone who can translate plans into meaningful operational outcomes.You’ll also need Demonstrated experience leading critical risk management, assurance and compliance programs within a large, complex, and regulated environment—preferably self-insured.Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk frameworks, and safety systems, including audit and investigation experience.Proven ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including operational leaders, external regulators, and third-party providers.Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent), with Lead Auditor and/or Safety Investigation credentials highly regarded.Strong data analysis and reporting capability to support decision-making and performance improvement.How we’ll deliver for youHybrid work model (between the office, travel to relevant work sites and being based at home)Be part of a collaborative as well as autonomous work environmentWe deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day.
