Role Overview:

Are you ready to lead a dynamic logistics team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a Logistics Team Leader to coordinate daily operational tasks within our Engineered Systems Manufacturing Unit (ESMU), based in Cheltenham. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through ESMU, supporting production and maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

  • Leading and guiding a team of logistics operators, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Managing daily logistics operations including goods receipt, put away, picking, packing, loading, despatching, stock counting, and discrepancy investigations.
  • Upholding Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards, including conducting risk assessments and investigations.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to internal stakeholders across departments.
  • Ensuring resource allocation meets business needs and maintaining adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
  • Handling administrative tasks and reporting, including KPI tracking and data interpretation.
  • Organising and conducting training, feedback sessions, appraisals, and return-to-work interviews.
  • Facilitating team briefings and contributing to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your previous experience is likely to include….

  • Leading or supervising a team in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
  • Working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Applying EHS practices and demonstrating commercial awareness.
  • Problem-solving in operational settings and contributing to project work.
  • Using Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as Six Sigma or 5Y.
  • Experience with JD Edwards/E1 or similar systems is desirable.
  • Exposure to welding processes and procedures is beneficial.
