Position Summary:
Mohawk Global is seeking a team of entry-level Sales Development Executives to drive new business acquisition for our various business units which encompass international freight forwarding, customs brokerage services and domestic truck brokerage services; these are sales hunter roles and are 100% focused on new client generation. Territories for which we’re hiring include: Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, Atlanta, GA and northern NJ / New York City.
Ideal candidates will be proactive, self-motivated professionals with a desire to gain a strong understanding of international trade and transportation, domestic truck brokerage services and trade consulting.
Upon hire, candidates will be welcomed to and immersed in a comprehensive apprenticeship program, on-site, at our corporate headquarters in Syracuse, NY for a minimum of 12 months (a $1,500.00 housing stipend will be provided). During this time, candidates will have the benefit of working alongside and learning from renowned industry experts and a supportive team of professionals to ensure that they’re securing the knowledge required to be set-up for optimal success. At the conclusion of Mohawk’s sales apprenticeship program, candidates will return to their respective territories and START SELLING!
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and acquire new clients for international freight forwarding and customs brokerage services or domestic truck brokerage services.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Educate prospects on Mohawk Global’s capabilities, with a focus on compliance, reliability, and global reach.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to cross-sell across all business units (i.e. trade consulting, domestic truck brokerage services, international freight forwarding, etc.) and ensuring smooth lead handoff.
- Maintain detailed records of prospecting activity and lead status in CRM.
- Represent Mohawk Global at trade shows, seminars, and networking events.
- Stay current on trade regulations, logistics trends, and compliance best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, Sales or related field preferred.
- Demonstrable passion for B2B sales within domestic brokerage services, international logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage.
- Strong desire to learn about global trade, transportation modes, and compliance requirements in order to gain the industry knowledge required to successfully sell Mohawk services.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Hunter mentality with a passion for building new relationships and closing deals.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
- Develop a proficiency for using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
