Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Summary:
Performs advanced mechanical breakdown and preventive maintenance that includes inspection, repair, and revision of CNC machinery/mechanisms and equipment to minimize downtime. Partners with management, engineering and vendors regarding new machinery/equipment selection, layout, and specification.
Hours: Monday - Friday (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Inspects, adjusts, and repairs machinery/mechanisms and equipment according to work assigned in an efficient manner to minimize operation downtime. Responsible for electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic work on equipment.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoot machine control systems including CNC and PLC controls.
- Troubleshoots and repairs various machine tool hydraulic and pneumatic systems including actuators, valves, pumps, and filters.
- Performs installation of, makes alterations to, and rebuilds facility machinery and equipment.
- Performs routine, preventative CNC machine maintenance; ensures PM program/schedule is followed.
- Collaborates with production and engineering teams to ensure the smooth integration and maintenance activities in the production schedule.
- Minimizes downtime by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts, and external contacts.
- Communicates with outside resources to diagnose/troubleshoot machine repairs, when necessary.
- Documents repairs, set-ups, maintenance, PM, TPM, and safety procedures to insure equipment reliability, quality control and improve overall operation of equipment.
- Recommends inventory parts to provide equipment reliability and timely repair.
- Tracks and provides data to engineering and management on machinery and equipment expenses.
- Plans and paces work efficiently in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
- Employs a high degree of safety, accuracy, and precision in performing work according to instructions and specifications.
- Assists safety committee with safety recommendations, changes, or repairs; may serve as a member of the safety committee.
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards. Complies with safety rules including PPE and OSHA standards.
- Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion, and over-processing. Supports continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
- Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
- Overtime may be required.
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-year Associates Degree in related field and/or 2+ years related work experience in a precision machining or contract manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CNC machines, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
- Strong math and analytical skills are required to gather, analyze, and interpret data, technical specifications, and blueprints/drawings, ensure sound decision making, and find appropriate solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, diagram knowledge, and equipment and machinery service manuals.
- Knowledge and working experience with MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a multitude of machinery and equipment and PLC and Fanuc controls.
- Knowledge of TPM and PM elements and how to reduce repairs while optimizing equipment productivity.
- Skilled with equipment and machinery troubleshooting testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to identify and evaluate complex, ambiguous technical issues and provide well thought out solutions.
- Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
- Ability to prioritize work load, multi-task, and work with little supervision in a “hands on” manufacturing environment.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or helpful):
- Electrician License.
- CNC Machinery Repair Training Class Certification including but not limited to Haas, Nigata, Matsuura, Cincinnati, Robo Drill, Okuma, Fada, Mori Seiki, Makino, and Doosan.
