Your Impactful Role

As the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator, you will ensure patients receive the equipment, bracing, and medications they need while keeping clinical sites organized and compliant. You will serve as a key liaison between patients and clinical teams, maintain inventory across multiple sites, and provide patient education to support proper use of DME.

  • Escort patients to the DME area and prepare them for fitting.
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces.
  • Instruct patients on proper utilization of equipment and provide educational materials.
  • Maintain stock and inventory within DME and medication dispensing areas.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical teams regarding DME and medication dispensed in-office.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate restocking for all clinical sites under the direction of the DME Manager.
  • Provide coverage at other PO sites as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation for any items dispensed in-office.
  • Offer weekend and evening coverage as directed by the DME Manager, with optional coverage at athletic events, games, and tournaments.
  • Attend meetings and perform additional duties as requested to support clinic operations.

Who You Are
This role is best suited for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (preferred) and at least three years of experience in a DME or orthopedic setting.

  • Previous clinic experience (preferred).

  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and BLS certification (preferred/required).

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and collaborate with clinical staff.

  • Dependability and the ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Proficiency with MS Word and experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred).

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 100 pounds, with frequent bending, kneeling, or crouching.

There is potential exposure to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within a full range of motion, as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
