The Postdoctoral Research Associate, under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will utilize the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty.

Salary: $5,084 monthly

Qualifications
Required Education
Appropriate PhD in a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Solid training and experience in cardiovascular disease research.
Degree in biomedical sciences
Knowledge of molecular cloning to generate, construct, and experience in adenovirus application.
mouse heart dissection, processing and staining; embryo dissection, Langendorff perfusion, open chest microsurgeries (e.g. transverse aortic constriction, myocardial infarction, and hypertension models), echocardiographic operation and data analysis. Experience with mouse and rat handling and physiology.
Primary cardiomyocyte isolation and culture.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position
Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment

Ability to lift and/or move medium-weight objects.
Responsibilities
Research
Under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise.
Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise.
Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite.
Analyzes research data and summarizes results.
Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications.
Mentoring
May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.
Presentations
Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
Lab Meeting/Projects
Participate in lab meetings within the center and other departments.
Participate in joint projects
involving the laboratory team.
Assist with undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
