About the Role:

The Lead General Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires managing multiple teams, subcontractors, and resources while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements. The General Foreman acts as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project management, facilitating clear communication and efficient problem-solving. They are responsible for planning daily work schedules, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that may arise to minimize delays. Ultimately, the General Foreman ensures that all construction operations align with the project goals and company policies, fostering a productive and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification in construction management or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision or foreman roles, preferably in industrial or commercial construction.
  • Proven knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations (OSHA), and quality control standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and subcontractors on large-scale projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Certification such as OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety, First Aid/CPR, or NCCER credentials.
  • Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews and subcontractors on-site to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project specifications.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly work schedules, allocating resources and manpower effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor job site safety practices, enforce compliance with safety regulations, and conduct regular safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to communicate progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure quality standards are met and provide guidance or corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment usage, and project documentation for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel to enhance team performance and professional development.

Technical skills such as blueprint reading and knowledge of construction methods are essential for supervising work quality and compliance.
