Job Summary: The Automation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, programming, and various automation technologies to ensure optimal performance of our automated processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain automated equipment, including PLCs, HMI systems, sensors, and robotics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on automated systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automation equipment to enhance reliability.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop and implement automation solutions tailored to specific processes.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, creating and maintaining accurate logs and reports.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and control systems.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel on the operation of automated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols within the automation area.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in an automation technician role or a similar position.
- Strong understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Familiarity with HMI software and configuration.
- Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
