Banquet Server en Avalon PS HM, LLC

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service during events such as weddings, conferences, banquets, and other large gatherings. They work closely with the event management team to ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience and that all food and beverage services are delivered smoothly and professionally.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide guests with a fun, friendly, and helpful experience.
• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure the event(s) are set as contracted.
• Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
• Displays knowledge of proper food presentation including handling, garnishing and serving of all food items.
• Follow standard department policies and procedures.
• Knowledgeable of food and beverage standards in service including but not limited to: proper set-up of table layouts, sequence of steps of service, sequence of various beverage services including wine service.
• Working knowledge of various event services including, but not limited to: buffet set-ups and service; plated set-ups and service; reception style set-ups and service.
• Adhere to all rules, policies and regulations as stated in the Proper Employee Handbook
• Operate and maintain the cleanliness of various equipment needed to prepare and serve menu items.
• Keep workstations and inventory stocked and organized, performing side work as assigned by supervisor.
• Bus, clean and set tables when and if necessary.
• Keep workstation area well stocked, clean and prepared for shifts.
• Prepare condiments, coffee, needs for all aspects of service for duration of event.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all department outlets according to Proper Standards.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
• A key requirement for this role is punctuality, including showing up on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, and adhering to all rest and meal break standards as well as the company's attendance policy.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
• Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler's card and Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) certification throughout employment.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

• Excellent verbal skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with colleagues.
• Must possess a high regard for customer service.
• Ability to understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) in order to follow directions on set-up of event spaces.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment. Must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Comfortable working in varied temperature conditions, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
