POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials within or between departments according to production schedules. Manage output of job orders and maintain Item Master. Compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. Perform purchasing activities of assigned commodities, parts, services and supplies in accordance with production schedule demand, cost goals and quality guidelines.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  •  Production Control
    1. Process, release and distribute production orders to work centers and with appropriate personnel to ensure production schedules are maintained, targeting on-time deliveries to the customer
    2. Maintain daily monitoring of Work In Process (WIP) reports for released/open and redundant jobs, ensuring that open and released jobs are valid and required
    3. Coordinate materials management activities with internal suppliers and purchasing for assigned customers or projects
    4. Review and maintain item masters, routings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
    5. Collaborating with Working Group Leaders to monitor part production for improvements or changes to be more efficient and/or accurate
    6. Review work in process with accounting department
    7. Communicate delivery schedule updates for customer orders (communicating any job concerns accordingly)
    8. Assistance with expediting production efforts as needed, communicate delivery changes and provide order status updates
  • Purchasing
    1. Analyze, coordinate, and maintain purchase requirements through the Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system to meet customer requirements
    2. Evaluate current suppliers for the price, quality, and delivery of assigned items
    3. Meet with suppliers for negotiations, evaluations, and quality/delivery/pricing performance metrics
    4. Manage supplier quality to include returns, non-conformances, corrective actions, and/or other issues
    5. Work with Quality personal to address supplier quality concerns/issues
    6. Assist with Requests for Quotes (RFQ)
    7. Work with Accounting to resolve invoice and price discrepancies 

 

 

Additional Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Three years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid knowledge of Production Planning, Inventory Control, ERP Management and Procurement required
  • Previous experience in Medical and Aerospace industries preferred
  • Strong PC skills and experience using ERP Systems
  • Well organized with a keen sense of urgency; ability to multi-task, handle pressure, detail and deadline oriented
  • Ability to read/understand mechanical drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas)
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects and tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing
  • Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results
  • Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Safety Health and Safety Policy
