Key Responsibilities
- Animal Management: Safely supervise and care for groups of dogs and cats, ensuring their well-being, safety, and comfort during play and rest periods.
- Sanitation Duties: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and common spaces. A significant portion of this role will involve cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Feeding and Basic Care: Provide proper feeding, watering, and care for all animals, following specific dietary and health protocols set by our veterinary team.
- Health Monitoring: Observe pets for signs of illness or distress and promptly report any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
- Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records for each pet’s stay, including feeding schedules, health observations, and behavioral notes.
- Client Interaction: Deliver excellent customer service by effectively communicating with pet owners about their pets’ needs, behaviors, and well-being.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to be Successful
- Experience: Previous experience in a kennel, daycare, or veterinary hospital is preferred, especially with both dogs and cats.
- Passion for Animal Care: A genuine love for pets and a commitment to their health and happiness.
- Strong Work Ethic: Reliable and dependable with a robust work ethic, ready to handle the physical demands of the job.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail, particularly in cleaning and maintaining a sanitary environment for our furry guests.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members and communicating with clients.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand on your feet for most of the day and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Availability: Flexibility in scheduling is required, including the ability to work some weekends and holidays (e.g., Spring Break, Easter, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
- Transportation: Reliable transportation is essential.
