Job Description: The Quality and Patient Safety Coordinator coordinates quality improvement initiatives to ensure positive clinical outcomes. Quality initiatives include core measures, physician peer review and quality indicators such as patient safety indicators, hospital acquired conditions, complications, mortality, and other special improvement projects. Collaborates with the physicians and hospital staff on quality initiatives, metrics, and projects; participates in patient safety and regulatory initiatives and requirements.

Qualifications:

• RN or Bachelor of Science in related area with 3 years acute care/performance improvement experience. 

Preferred: BSN. MSN. RN with Professional certification in Healthcare Quality or Risk Management.

Experience: 3 years clinical experience in acute care setting. Knowledge of core measures, clinical indicators, and outcome measures. Working knowledge and understanding of publicly reported data.  Given training and on the job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within 3 months.
