Position Summary:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, revenue growth, and guest engagement across all business units of Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This includes oversight of digital marketing, traditional advertising, public relations, social media, brand management, partnerships, and promotional campaigns. The Director leads a dynamic team and works cross-functionally with resort leadership to align marketing efforts with business goals and seasonal demand.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the resort, including accommodations, dining, events, golf, retail, spa, real estate, and recreational amenities.
  • Lead the marketing team in the creation and execution of multi-channel campaigns that support revenue and occupancy goals.
  • Oversee digital marketing strategies, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, content creation, social media, and paid media.
  • Manage the resort's website(s), ensuring accuracy, performance, and optimization for user experience and conversions.
  • Guide creative development of marketing materials including print ads, brochures, signage, photography, and video.
  • Collaborate with public relations partners to secure media coverage and maintain a positive public image.
  • Oversee brand consistency across all departments and ensure adherence to brand standards and visual identity.
  • Analyze marketing performance metrics and provide regular reporting on ROI, web analytics, and guest engagement trends.
  • Manage vendor relationships including advertising agencies, designers, printers, media buyers, and influencers.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and revenue management teams to support targeted campaigns and promotions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of target audiences, competitive positioning, industry trends, and guest behavior.
  • Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering innovation, accountability, and professional development.
  • Represent the resort at conferences, trade shows, and community events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced marketing certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in hospitality, resort, or luxury travel industries.
  • Proven success in developing and managing multi-channel marketing strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and platforms including Google Analytics, email marketing systems, CMS platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of CRM, e-commerce, and guest loyalty programs a plus.
  • Creative thinker with a strong understanding of brand development and storytelling.
  • Experience with Marriott brand is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to navigate resort property for meetings, photoshoots, and content creation.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds (marketing materials, signage, etc.).
  • Ability to travel occasionally for marketing events, trade shows, or training.
