The Banquet Event Captain is responsible for providing training to food and beverage service personnel for events and service to club members and guests. Assists in acting as Manager on Duty.
- Position: Full-time
- Compensation: $16/hr + Gratuities!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide feedback on training materials
- Assist with training for all the Event service staff.
- Set up service station(s) with organization and perform assigned side work as assigned. Assist in assuring all other service team members have completed their sidework to QW standards.
- Knowledge of service pieces, service procedures and service timing.
- Knowledge of bartending and wine service.
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
- Works with Banquet Manager to make sure all event rooms are setup correctly.
- Takes food and beverage orders for members and guests.
- Complies with all laws/policies relating to the service of alcohol.
- Follows up with members and guests to ensure satisfaction. Replenish items as needed.
- Removes dirty dishes.
- Keeps event rooms clean, well-stocked and organized.
- Maintains linens/restocking.
- Advises Department Leaders of any complaints.
- Performs clean-up and closing duties.
- Attends any food and beverage meetings as needed
- Performs related banquet set-up tasks (tables and stations).
- Clean all banquet equipment that will be used for the function.
- Provides immediate attention to members and guests as they arrive at the function.
- Serves Cocktails, hors d’oeurves and the meal.
- Pour and refill wine, coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after the meal.
- Knows the proper procedure for ringing the function through the POS computer system.
- Assists in the closing functions (removing linens, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, and re-setting the room).
- Works ala carte Cypress Grille in the off season as a server.
Requirements
- Possess strong organizational, written and time management skills.
- Exhibit professionalism and leadership qualities through own self-actions.
- Must be compliant with and actively support a drug free workplace.
- Comply with all rules and regulations as stated whether verbal or written.
Qualifications
- Must have food and beverage experience.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must be a team player and customer service oriented.
- TIPS Certified and Food Safety certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical activities required on a daily basis will consist of standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds.
- Must be able to work long hours during the season.
- The work environment will entail all food and beverage outlets.
- While performing the duties of this job the associate will occasionally work in outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
