Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sort and organize completed prescriptions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the shipping process. 
• Utilize pharmacy operating software and dispatch/routing systems to track and manage outgoing orders. 
• Operate handheld scanners to capture barcode data and maintain digital records for shipment tracking. 
• Prepare packages for delivery, including printing packing lists, verifying accuracy, staging, and routing shipments. 
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned, supporting overall shipping and distribution operations. 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task and work with other members of the shipping and distribution team as well as Pharmacists and Technicians
• Understanding of basic production processes for packaging and shipping
• Ability to develop continuous improvements in the shipping department
• Basic understanding of, or the ability to learn, locations and organizational structure of the company
• Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of medications
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
• Ability to work with little oversight and/or guidance
• Must be able to speak and write English

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with the shipping and distribution team in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of basic packaging and shipping processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency in pharmacy operations.
• Ability to accurately sort, organize, and distribute large volumes of medications, ensuring timely and precise deliveries.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while following written and oral instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
• Physically able to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 40 pounds, with experience in FedEx and overnight shipping considered a plus.
