Requirements
The Accounting Associate will support AGPM’s Finance and Accounting processes. This role will report to the Accounting Manager. Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for partnerships and multiple entities
- Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Assist in oversight of month-end close process
- Responsible for financial reporting
- Create and review budgets
- Review and post journal entries for accuracy
- Perform/review account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Create/review and post weekly/monthly journal entries
- Analyze expenses to ensure they are recorded correctly
- Prepare/review monthly bank reconciliations
- Perform month-end closing process and preparation of financial reports
- Assist in accounting processes across all departments
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Assist in documenting accounting processes and monitoring internal controls
- Utilize the ERP system to streamline financial processes, reporting, and data analysis.
- Train and guide finance team members in effectively utilizing ERP system for financial reporting and analysis, as well as monthly reporting
- Assist in the management of annual financial audits
- Accounting relationships: manage 3rd party accounting relationships
Experience & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of Accounting theory
- 1.5 to 3 years experience as a Staff Accountant performing month-end closes
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Strong Knowledge of Yardi
- Strong knowledge of debits and credits, as well as general ledger accounting principles
- Sense of ownership and the ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel.
- Experience in using and maintaining accounting package.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers.
- Ability to work individually, unsupervised and as part of a fast-moving organization and team.
- Capability to prioritize multiple tasks and critically think through complex situations as part of an international team.
- Ability to follow operational procedures and work to strict project deadlines.
