Job Summary:
Content Design at PayPalAt PayPal, content designers work side by side with UX Designers, Product Owners, Engineering and Researchers to create customer experiences that empower people and businesses around the world. We’re looking for a Senior content designer to write empathetic and inclusive content to make complex financial problems easy for our customers. This role works directly with product partners to define project requirements, create robust content strategies, and craft content that builds trust with our brand.
The content design team is responsible for creating content for PayPal web and mobile product experiences. We’re a passionate and energetic team, we solve problems, we value opinions, are highly collaborative and draw up the most amazing experiences for our customers.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform work assignments using specialized content design knowledge and developed business expertise
- Lead projects and/or programs within content design family with moderate scope impacting function or sub-function
- Analyze, evaluate, and make decisions within general parameters under broad supervision
- May act as a subject matter resource for entry level and developing colleagues
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

You’re just as happy brainstorming big-picture strategy and reviewing the end-to-end experience as you are crafting compelling headlines and helpful error messages. You’re excited to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment that requires independent self-direction as well as collaboration and open communication. You understand the importance of presenting content strategy to stakeholders, and you’re eager to develop and share your expertise.
What you’ll do at PayPal
- Plan and write content for web and mobile experiences (across all touch points including navigation and user interface copy, emails, in-app notifications, chatbots, and help).
- Transform global product requirements into a strategy for how you will use content to meet business goals and solve real customer problems.
- Present your work and articulate your approach to teammates, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Design on page layout, interactions, and visual tone.
- Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure we create a consistent end-to-end experience.
- Use data and research to evaluate your content’s impact, and push for continuous improvement that shows real results.
- Maintain and evolve PayPal’s content standards, including voice and tone.

What do you need to bring
- 5+ years of professional writing experience.
- 2+ years of UX writing experience,
- Fluency in written English.
- Excellent, highly creative writing and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience working with content standards, such as style and voice and tone guidelines.
- Experience working across multiple platforms, like web, app and mobile.
- At ease contributing to multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams.
- Experience in financial services, payments, B2B or B2C e-commerce is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree, master's degree or an equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Design, Information Science or related fields is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with AI tools, Figma, etc.
