The Role:

Sauce Labs is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to be a key contributor to a strategic component that connects customer applications to our Error Reporting service. If you have solid experience in mobile—especially Android—and gaming platforms, and you're comfortable working in the native layers below the application, this role is for you. This is a hands-on opportunity to tackle challenging problems in the mobile and gaming space while working alongside a talented team of senior engineers. You will gain valuable experience across gaming, web, and native platforms, and your work will have a direct impact on our core product offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement features and solutions for our application observability platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that bridge the layers of an application, from managed to native to the OS, across multiple platforms like mobile, gaming, and web.
• Contribute to the development of both open-source and proprietary software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product managers to understand requirements and execute on the technical roadmap
• Work from the office five days a week (located in Noida/Gurugram)

Required Skills:

• Experience: Approximately 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Language Diversity: Strong experience in both managed and native development for mobile and gaming applications is important. You should have experience with Java, Kotlin, and game development frameworks. Experience with Swift/Objective-C, web, and React Native is a big plus.
• Crash Reporting: Familiarity with the crash reporting toolchain and experience with native crash reporting tools like Crashpad and PLCrashReporter.
• SDK Development: Experience building, maintaining, and integrating with SDKs and tools for external developers, with a focus on writing clean and well-documented code.
• Performance & Footprint: An awareness of how to write lightweight and efficient code that is minimally intrusive to customer applications.
• Threading and Concurrency: Experience addressing race conditions, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks in mobile and gaming SDKs.
• Cross-language Integration: Experience with JNI/NDK (Java - C/C++) and bridging layers (Unity/Unreal - native).
• Security Best Practices: Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and strategies for securely handling crash and error data.
• Build Systems: Solid knowledge of cross-platform build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and package distribution (e.g., Gradle, CocoaPods, npm, Unity Package Manager).

We are a hybrid workplace that recognizes the importance of flexibility while valuing in-person collaboration and relationship building. As a result, Saucers located near an office location must be able and willing to come into the office. Those hired remotely must be able and willing to travel to an office as required by the specific role.
