PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to our dedicated team in Portsmouth, NH. 
 
The PetMedic team in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is ready to provide high-quality and timely veterinary urgent care in the Portsmouth community. Our flexible scheduling allows you to make same-day online appointments during the week, on weekends, or during select holidays. No matter when you come in, you can expect exceptional care from our warm, knowledgeable, and compassionate staff.
 
Our Portsmouth PetMedic clinic is conveniently located off I-95. Keep an eye out for our hospital when you’re driving through the New Hampshire seacoast, getting groceries at the Hannaford close by, or going out to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants like Street, Otto and Buffalo Wild Wings.
 
 
Veterinary Technician - CVT
PetMedic in Portsmouth, NH
This role will work ten hour shifts (10am – 8pm) during the week and rotating weekend shifts. Availability for this schedule is required.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Perform physical assessments and record your observations
  • Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
  • Assist the Veterinarian in  procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
  • Comfortable taking radiographs, small animal restraint, triage, monitor anesthesia
  • Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to commit to evening shifts and one weekend day
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipuncture)
  • Placing IV Catheters

REQUIREMENTS 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Registration (RVT), Certification (CVT) or License (LVT)  or certification eligible required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
