Job Description:As the Solution Product Manager for APIs and Integrations, you will define how customers and partners access and leverage Nearmap’s data. You’ll ensure our APIs are intuitive, reliable, and scalable, meeting customer needs today while laying the groundwork for future innovation. You will also drive adoption by making Nearmap data seamlessly available across key platforms like ESRI, Autodesk, and other industry ecosystems. Working closely with customers, engineering, and product teams, you’ll play a central role in making Nearmap’s aerial imagery and insights accessible, actionable, and indispensable.
You'll engage internally with Engineering Leadership, Technical Product Management, Sales Engineering, Sales Leadership, Customer Success, Commercial Systems & Operations Teams, Alliances & Strategic Partnerships teams and Legal. You'll collaborate externally with customers, and technology partners to understand unmet needs in APIs, identify new platforms where Nearmap data should be present, and ensure that wherever it is delivered, it is simple and easy to access.
Build and Prioritize the API Roadmap
- Set the long-term strategic direction for Nearmap’s APIs, aligning roadmap decisions with customer demand, industry standards, and future product opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to design APIs that meet customer needs and support internal consumption.
- Define and improve processes for API lifecycle management, including versioning, documentation, and developer experience.
- Ensure Nearmap’s APIs are simple, intuitive, and easy to adopt, driving broad usage and customer satisfaction.
Manage High Performing Integrations
- Define and execute the strategic direction for Nearmap integrations, ensuring our data is accessible where customers work.
- Partner with platform providers such as ESRI, Autodesk, Guidewire, and other industry ecosystems to expand and strengthen Nearmap’s integration footprint.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and partners to identify high-value workflows and prioritize integrations that deliver maximum customer impact.
- Establish and maintain best practices for integration design, usability, and support to ensure Nearmap data is easy and intuitive to access across external platforms.
Documentation & Standards
- Ensure all API and integration documentation meet Nearmap’s standards for clarity, accuracy, and usability.
- Partner with technical writers, engineering, and developer experience teams to validate that documentation enables smooth adoption of Nearmap APIs and integrations.
- Advocate for a consistent, high-quality documentation strategy that reinforces Nearmap’s reputation for simplicity, ease of use, and customer trust.
Monitoring & KPIs
- Define and track KPIs for APIs and integrations, including usage, adoption, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with analytics and engineering teams to build dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into adoption and impact.
- Use insights from metrics to inform roadmap decisions and prioritize improvements.
- 4+ years in product management, business analysis, or a related field
- Hands-on experience using APIs, with a strong sense of what good developer experience looks and feels like
- Solid understanding of how APIs are used in enterprise workflows, including best practices for developer experience, lifecycle management, and adoption.
- Experience with data-driven products or analytics solutions particularly those involving geospatial data or integrations into industry platforms (e.g., ESRI, Autodesk, insurance, or government systems).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market signals, identify customer needs, and translate them into product strategy.
- Preferred experience in one or more of the following; Insurance, AEC, Government, Disaster Management, or Commercial Real Estate.
- Market research, strategic reasoning, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Data analysis using tools like Excel and Snowflake; proficiency with SQL and API testing/debugging tools such as Postman is required.
- Ability to work directly with APIs: designing, testing, validating, and ensuring strong developer experience.
- Knowledge of API and integration best practices, including authentication, versioning, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with geospatial software, API integration concepts, or data pipeline workflows is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and quickly build working knowledge of complex technical domains.
- Strong product intuition with the ability to identify and execute on opportunities for new APIs and integrations that align with customer workflows and evolving market needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Confident engaging with engineers, data scientists, and marketing.
- Clear communicator who can translate technical topics into business-relevant language.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
